A fun packed time where you will get wet and have lots of fun whilst been Introduced to Sail through play, Safety and wet weather clothing and equipment supplied. In April and October we run shorter days due to the weather these days start at 11am during the warmer months we start at 10am.
Entry requirements:
For all the following courses children should be between 8 and 16 years of age and be able to swim 50 metres. If children are unable to meet this swimming requirement due to disability please phone the centre to discuss any special needs. Where appropriate children will be divided into different age groups according to the nature of the activity. In the event of adverse weather, the centre reserves the right to offer alternative activities to those described. For example, in the event of gale force winds, sailing would be inappropriate and therefore a land based activity may be substituted.

Sailing Youth Stage 1
A safe and fun filled introduction to sailing in Topper TAZ or TOPAZ dinghies. The course will follow the RYA stage one syllabus and will teach you how to rig, launch and sail your dinghy wherever you want to go.

Sailing Youth Stage 3 Skills
By the end of the Stage 3 course you will be safety conscious and be able to sail a dinghy confidently in light winds. Sailing predominantly in Taz and Topaz dinghies, you will practise sailing backwards, forwards, upwind, downwind, tacking and gybing to your hearts delight and master of your own boat.

One to One Tuition Course Overview: More and more of our customers want the freedom and flexibility of individual coaching at a time which suits them. In response to this demand Findhorn Marina is launching a one to one coaching service. How does it work? Just decide what activity you would like from our brochure and when you want to take part and we will do our best to accommodate you. At busy times of the year we may be unable to meet your first choice of dates, so having a second choice will help. Cost is bound to be more than a standard course but look at what you get: the boat of your choice from the wide selection available, the undivided attention of the instructor, the advantage of specialist in depth knowledge, the flexibility of a single day or combination of days and the ability to tailor the coaching to meet your own needs. Its more expensive but it represents more one on one time with your instructor for your money than on our standard courses! t

Taster Sailing Session Adult (FINDHORN)
If you have never been sailing before and want to have a go before committing yourself to a course then one of these group sessions may be just what you need to help make a decision. This session is also a great present for a friend or loved one! You will sail in one of our larger two person dinghies with an instructor on board and safety cover on the water. The sailing is part instruction and part demonstration. Young people aged from 8 year old are also welcome.

Powerboat Advanced Driver (INVERNESS)
The aim of this course is to teach boat handling, seamanship, pilotage and navigation up to the standards required to drive a planing powerboat safely by day and night in tidal coastal waters. Candidates should be competent to the standard of RYA Intermediate Powerboat (coastal) with a knowledge of navigation and chartwork to the level of RYA Dayskipper. There is night navigation involved.

VHF DSC (FINDHORN)
GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System) became fully operational in 1999. This latest development in marine communications adds a new feature to the long established VHF radio with the introduction of Digital Selective Calling (DSC). This one day course is designed for people wishing to obtain the Maritime Radio Operator Certificate of Competence - Short Range Certificate in order to legally operate the VHF equipment on their boat.

Sea Survival
An interesting and informative day, a must for all sailors and powerboat users. The course will include, safety equipment, knowledge about flares, a practical session of liferafts in a swimming pool and the prevention and treatment of hypothermia. This course will meet the RYA/DoT criteria for those seeking a commercial endorsement to their Yachtmaster Certificate.

RYA 1 day 1st AID
This one day First Aid course will provide a thorough grounding in first aid techniques with particular reference to small craft afloat. A valid first aid certificate is a requirement for the Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster Offshore examinations as well as all RYA Instructor and BCU Coaching awards. Free First Aid manuals are distributed during the course for attendees to keep.

CLUB SAILING TOPAZ
ONLY AVAILABLE TO CLUB MEMBERS , USE THIS TO BOOK A TOPAZ (2 person boat you may need to share or book 2 places for single use ie £4 but remember doing this may stop some one else getting out) If you have RYA Dinghy sailing stage 2 and would like to improve your sailing, why not come back and join us for our Club Sailing. You can choose your own boat and practice your sailing whilst our helpfull instructors will be on hand to ensure your safety. Our experienced staff will of course always be on hand to coach and assist you both on and off the water in these supervised sailing sessions and arrange for racing to take place when appropriate. The emphasis will be on recreation, relaxation and fun rather than instruction.

Level: Minimum of Adult Level 1 or Youth Stage 2 (young people 18 years and under must be accompanied by an adult "can be ashore if you don't fancy a sail")
